Bethune-Cookman University is looking for an Aquatic Coastal Ecologist at the 
Assistant or Associate Professor level to join the rapidly developing 
Department of Integrated Environmental Science for the Spring (preferred) or 
Fall semester of 2011. We are looking for a colleague who possesses a thorough 
grounding in coastal aquatic ecology involving the utilization of GIS and 
remote sensing to issues of coastal land use and water quality/perturbation. 
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in ecology 
and GIS/remote sensing, and for contributing an active research program to the 
department. In addition, we would prefer:

 *   A strong background or interest in the application of GIS and remote 
sensing to coastal ecological problems with an applied aspect
 *   An established teaching (Bachelors and Masters), research/publications, 
and funding record (or evidence of promise thereof) in the general field of 
coastal ecology and/or GIS (specific research issue is open; salary and rank to 
be based on experience and record)
IES is an interdisciplinary department, and preference will be given to 
candidates who can demonstrate an ability to contribute to, cooperate with, and 
enhance the work of faculty with many different scientific and non-scientific
