Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in the Biological Sciences and have a strong record of scholarship and teaching, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and demonstrate administrative skills. The department also offers the MS degree in Biology. In cooperation with the departments of Chemistry & Biochemistry and Integrated Science & Technology, it offers a second major in Biotechnology. The department is a major contributor to the university's general education curriculum and critical to training in the health professions.
