With an emphasis on developing future faculty and furthering the University’s strategic directions of learner-centeredness and collaboration, the ED position is focused on the training and development of Teaching Assistants, Graduate students, faculty and other educators at the University of Guelph. Work will include fostering evidence-based practices through supporting course development, delivery and assessment; designing and facilitating workshops; event planning; developing print based and online resources; and supporting the scholarship of teaching. Requirements of the position include: Master’s degree in education or a related field and several years of related job experience in educational development, preferably in a university setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Essential skills include: needs assessment, consultation, evaluation, instructional design, program planning, and organization of self-management. In addition, the incumbent must have a thorough understanding of pedagogical literature and be able to communicate and work effectively with faculty, TAs, support staff and university administrators. Experience teaching in a higher education setting and knowledge of the University of Guelph, its strategic directions, its academic and support units is required.
