Northwest forests
We are recruiting post-doctoral applicants to submit proposals for a
USGS Mendenhall Research Opportunity examining climatic controls on
biological nitrogen fixation in forests of the Pacific Northwest.
This research opportunity may include a combination of literature
survey and meta-analysis, field studies along climatic gradients,
and/or simulation modeling to examine the implications of
climate-dependency of biological nitrogen fixation for carbon cycling
and storage. Selection of the successful applicant is based on the
merit and relevance of an 8 page research proposal, as well as the
applicant's qualifications to complete the proposed work.
This is a 2-year post-doctoral position based in Corvallis, Oregon.
