A Graduate Assistantship (Ph.D.) is available to study the effects of
invasive species on ecosystem processes, particularly nutrient cycling, in
the lab of Dr. Jennifer Fraterrigo at the University of Illinois,
Urbana-Champaign. Work will focus on Microstegium vimineum, a C4 annual
grass that is currently invading deciduous forests throughout the eastern U.S.

Applicants may pursue admission through the interdisciplinary graduate
Program in Ecology, Evolution and Conservation Biology (PEEC
(http://sib.illinois.edu/peec/)) or the graduate program in Natural
Resources and Environmental Sciences (NRES (http://nres.illinois.edu/)).

Qualifications:
Highly motivated individuals with excellent academic credentials and strong
communication skills are encouraged to apply. Candidates must be able to
work independently.
