The U.S. Forest Service and the University of Minnesota, Department
of Forest Resources are seeking a postdoctoral scientist to
contribute to research assessing the consequences of weather
fluctuations for productivity and carbon cycling in forests of the
northern Lake States. This position is part of a larger project
assessing the impact of climate change on the Superior National
Forest (northeast Minnesota) and will utilize a network of existing
research sites with detailed field measurements and
dendrochronological data. These positions will work closely with
scientists at the University of Minnesota and the USDA Forest Service
Northern Research Station.
The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in forest ecology, forestry,
silviculture, ecosystem ecology, or a closely related field,
experience with dendrochronology, as well as a strong work ethic,
demonstrated quantitative capabilities, a record of leadership, and a
proven ability to work independently.
