Does anybody have any suggestions for models that students in an undergrad lab class could use to manipulate climate variables to simulate climate change and observe resulting biotic responses? The responses could be almost anything ecologically interesting- growth of individual organisms, changes in a local community, changes in geographic distributions, etc. Ideally, I'd like an easy interface that is fairly easy for students to learn to use, but based on a reasonably sophisticated underlying model. Some years ago there was a student-friendly version of the JABOWA model (of forest dynamics) that was suitable for use in this way. Can anyone suggest any others, or anything newer?

Thanks,

Max
