Ecologers, I am a current MSc student in Aquatic Pathobiology at the Institute of Aquaculture at the University of Stirling. My interest in aquaria has led me to look for PhD opportunities for Fall 2011 to study the biosecurity practices of the importation / exportation of ornamental fish and inverts on a regional, national, and international level. From my experience as an aquarist and a marine science center director I know the ornamental fish industry transcends boarders and believe more effort needs to be taken to insure that diseases do not transcend these same boarders. I would be most interested in working alongside those who appreciate the educational and aesthetic value of aquariums and am open to any location worldwide. Please contact me via email if you know of or are offering an opportunity that fits in with my interests. I am happy to send my CV and further details of my research interests to those who inquire.
Thanks for your time and passing on this email. - Kevin
