Y'all:
Just for grins, one might consider that anyone might be better off asking
questions from the heart of one's intellectual passion rather than any
canned ones aimed at "getting" a mere "job." Any institution that would fail
to hire you because your passion didn't match their mission would not be a
good place to work, thus a waste of one's life, and one that failed to hire
you because you asked canned questions would not be doing you a disservice,
for pretty much the same reasons. If you don't know this already, I suspect
that either the degree-granting institution you came from swindled you or
that you fudged your way to a certificate rather than embraced, yea, gone
way beyond, the "content."
Oh well, if you insist upon tricking them into giving you a job, you might
say something like "Based on what I've told you about my experience to date,
do you (examiners) believe, and should I believe, that our association in
the future will be one of mutual growth?" Hell, I don't know . . . My advice
is to refuse to take any advice, but go with your intellectual gut. That,
alone, will make you stand out from the canned recitations. Still, if the
can fits, open it.
