The Laboratory of Dr. Gregory Starr in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Alabama is seeking applicants for the Ph.D. program. Dr. Starr currently has 4 projects in operation related to the anthropogenic issues, climate change and biogeochemical cycles. The projects included:
1. Understanding of winter physiological activity in Arctic Tundra Plants and their metabolic carbon pools near Toolik Lake Research Station, Alaska. 2. Determining the role prescribed fire has on ecosystem processes in Long Leaf Pine Ecosystems. 3. Assessment of Biogeochemical Cycles in Everglades National Park with alteration in the hydrologic regime during the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan. 4. Assessing the health of Alabama Salt water marshes and their biogeochemical cycles following the deep horizon oil spill.
