FIELD ASSISTANT needed, 01 May - 15 Aug (flexible) to aid DR. ELLEN KETTERSON 
in a study of the 
breeding biology of Dark-eyed Juncos at Mountain Lake Biological Station in SW 
Virginia.
Responsibilities may include mist netting, blood sampling, nest searching, 
behavioral observation, 
GPS, and data entry. Applicants must be able to distinguish small colored leg 
bands in the field, 
enjoy working outdoors (even in bad weather), be self-motivated, able to work 
well with others, and 
willing to do minor manipulative research with animals. The work schedule 
involves long hours for 
six days a week, and is challenging, but fun. A good attitude and strong work 
ethic is essential. Prior 
avian field experience is strongly preferred. Transportation allowance, room, 
board, and stipend 
(amount dependent upon experience and level of funding for project) is provided.
