We are pleased to announce the 10th ICPBR International Symposium which will be held in the Universidad de las Américas Puebla (<http://www.udlap.mx/>http://www.udlap.mx/), Cholula, Mexico Monday 27 June to Wednesday 29 June 2011.
The conference will include plenary lectures and symposia on a diverse range of topics including studies of insect pollinated plants (cultivated and wild), pollinator foraging behaviour, management and protection of insect pollinators and pollination services, and bee collected materials from plants (e.g. nectar and pollen, products derived from plants and modified by bees). There will also be poster sessions with social mixers and side meetings for special interest groups.
Our aim is to provide a venue for the global community of pollination researchers and practitioners to present their work, exchange ideas and network with colleagues and friends.
The meeting will have three full days dedicated to talks and include a full days excursion to either the Helia Bravo botanic gardens <http://motivosdelamarea.wordpress.com/2009/08/13/jardn-botnico-helia-bravo-hollis/>(link) or Tetela de Ocampo an important area for commercial apple growing and glasshouses <http://www.mexicoquerido.com.mx/puebla/es/destinos/dePdes.php?_idDestino=46>(link).
We will also offer an extended excursion at the end of the meeting to Cuetzalan to explore the tropical forest and see indigenous beekeeping practices (<http://www.uoguelph.ca/icpbr/pubs/Traditional Stingless bee keeping.doc>Traditional Stingless Bees).
We are currently accepting invitations for talks; please email your provisional title and contact details to: <mailto:[email protected]>[email protected]
