As a new member to ecolog-l, I am writing to introduce myself. My primary field is behavioral ecology in general, specializing in the evolution of social behavior and social organization of vertebrates. I am an advocate of invasive fieldwork (e.g., translocation experiments, translocation for conservation rationales, marking subjects individually by immobilization, radio-telemetry, etc.), methodology and research design of field research, assessment of costs and benefits of invasive studies to animals and habitats, and techniques to minimize deleterious effects of field investigations on animals and their habitats. Additionally, as an Associate with the CBO Community Conservation Consultants, Inc., I am committed to facilitating "bottom-up" (horizontal) conservation networks connecting with "top-down" (vertical) networks. I look forward to active participation on the listserv. clara b. jones
