Subject: Support EPA action to protect wildlife from toxic pollution

After decades of delay and inaction, the Environmental Protection Agency has finally proposed new rules to reduce mercury and other toxic pollution from power plants. NWF has long fought for strong regulations to limit mercury emissions, given the grave threat mercury contamination poses to both people and wildlife. We are thrilled to see this strong proposal, but we're hoping for support from ecologists to ensure that this becomes law.

It is critical that EPA hear loud public support for these new regulations given the intense opposition already being voiced from the fossil-fuel industry. Coal-fired power plants are the single largest source of mercury pollution in this country, and industry lobbyists are determined to weaken this proposal. We need your help to ensure that EPA moves forward and finalizes a strong rule to protect future generations of people and wildlife from toxic mercury.
