Two Program Directors sought for NSFs Division of Antarctic Sciences
NSFs Office of Polar Programs is seeking two Program Directors for the Division of Antarctic Sciences to manage proposal-driven research programs. The positions are
· Program Director, Antarctic Integrated System Science Program (AISS): The AISS program addresses questions about the Antarctic as a system and is broader in scope than typical disciplinary programs. The successful candidate will have experience with interdisciplinary science, including the management challenges presented by such projects. The program director coordinates with other programs throughout NSF, other funding agencies, and international partners to achieve program goals.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. or equivalent training, broad knowledge of one or more of the relevant disciplinary areas of OPP, and other qualifications as stated in the job announcement. This position may be filled as a Permanent appointment, Visiting Scientist appointment, Federal Temporary appointment, or an Intergovernmental Personnel Act assignment. The successful candidate will have experience in biological sciences and management challenges presented by the scope of biological research that the program encompasses. The program director coordinates with other programs throughout NSF, other funding agencies, and international partners to achieve program goals.
