Dear all, yesterday, we posted an e-mail concerning the webpage www.MCED-ecology.org and the related textbook "Modelling Complex Ecological Dynamics" Unfortunately, as many of you recognized, there were some typos, which made the links not working. Sorry for that, here comes the new version incl. the correct URLs.
Also, please note, that on the page table-of-contents and some reading examples are provided, index will be there soon also available. Thanks all for your input! Best, Fred, Hauke and Broder, ### Dear all, we'd like to draw your attention to the website www.MCED-ecology.orgaccompanying the recently published textbook "Modeling Complex Ecological Dynamics" MCED, Springer Publishing House. MCED gives a broad overview of methods, approaches and applications of modeling in ecology: Differential equations, matrix approaches, individual-based models and various other relevant modelling techniques are explained and exemplified. MCED shows how to construct and work with the different model types, introduces the background of each approach and its application in ecology. With chapters written by leading specialists worldwide, we are happy to present an essential overview for students, teachers and scientist, alike, who are interested in getting in touch with Ecological Modeling. The webiste www.MCED-ecology.org was set up and maintained by the book editors and provides supplementary material, additional references and hints where to access additional software tools The MCED website is used as a communication platform to share information on topics relevant in modeling and referring to the book chapters, and for further updates on equations, models, tasks, literature. It will also provide information on current developments concerning ecological modeling. We are looking forward to your feedback. best, Fred, Hauke and Broder -- PD Dr. Fred Jopp, Adjunct Professor Department of Biology, University of Miami P. O.
