The Turtle Survival Alliance will host the 9th Annual Symposium on the
Conservation and Biology of Tortoises and Freshwater Turtles

14 – 17 August 2011, Orlando, Florida
Joint Annual Meeting of the Turtle Survival Alliance and
IUCN/SSC Tortoise and Freshwater Turtle Specialist Group

The Turtle Survival Alliance (TSA) and the IUCN/SSC Tortoise and Freshwater 
Turtle Specialist Group 
(TFTSG) are pleased to announce the dates of their joint Symposium, Sunday – 
Wednesday, August 
14 – 17, 2011 in Orlando, Florida. This is the 9th annual conference hosted by 
the TSA, and has 
become the world’s largest gathering of tortoise and freshwater turtle 
biologists in the world. The 
following session chairs are still accepting presentations:

South American Turtles – Vivian Páez
Turtle Ecology – Ben Anders
Asian Chelonians – Torsten Blanck
Box Turtles – Ross Kiester
Role of Zoos in Turtle Conservation – Charles (Chuck) Becker
Biology of North American Tortoises (Session is Full!)

submitted an abstract

In addition to the special sessions listed above, there are many presentation 
slots left open for a 
wide variety of other topics including Community Projects, Husbandry, Field 
Conservation, and 
Genetics.
