For those attending AGU this December (5-9th in San Francisco), please consider
submitting your
abstract to a session I am leading with Ben Cook, entitled 'Beyond Earlier
Spring: Diverse
Phenological Responses to Climate Across Species and Ecosystems.'

The full description is below---we're looking for novel research examining
phenology (life-history
timing) across organisms, time and space. We're especially interested in work
integrating multiple
environmental cues, using novel theoretical or statistical approaches or from
under-studied
habitats and regions.

Abstract submission is open now through August 4th -- you can find more info at:
http://sites.agu.org/fallmeeting/scientific-program/submit-policies/
When you submit your abstract request session B12 (more info below).

Thanks.
Lizzie

B12: Beyond Earlier Spring: Diverse Phenological Responses to Climate Across
Species and
Ecosystems

Sponsor: Biogeosciences (B)
Co-Sponsor(s): Global Environmental Change (GC)

Phenology research often focuses on warming and the advance of spring. Yet
phenology may
respond in diverse ways to competing environmental cues, including moisture,
snow, irradiation,
photoperiod, or temperatures during chilling periods. Such cues may vary
between species,
ecosystems or through time. Quantifying the importance of these other cues
requires careful
analysis of climate-phenology relationships using new approaches, insights and
datasets. We invite
submissions from all branches of phenology research (species level, common
gardens, remote
sensing) that explore the complex interactions between climate and phenology,
including studies
that use novel theoretical or statistical approaches.
