In July, 2011, NSF and the U.S. Agency for International Development
(USAID) launched a joint initiative to address global development
challenges through international research collaboration. PEER
(Partnerships for Enhanced Engagement in Research) is a competitive
grants program that will allow developing country scientists to apply
for funds to support research and capacity building activities in
partnership with their NSF-funded collaborators. PEER is being
administered by the National Academies. PEER program details can be
found at www.nationalacademies.org/peer.
