Herrick Endowed Chair in Plant Conservation Biology

Kent State University seeks an internationally recognized biologist to 
fill the Herrick Endowed Chair in Plant Conservation Biology in the 
Department of Biological Sciences.   The successful candidate will join a 
growing department with a rich academic history in this field and a 
mission to develop our expertise into the modern era of conservation 
biology.  We view the successful candidate as providing leadership for 
growth as well as an established and distinguished record of research 
scholarship. 

We especially seek applications from individuals who use the modern tools 
of biology to address questions in this field.  Preference will be given 
to an individual whose interest and expertise are in, or associated with, 
plant conservation from a broad perspective. This includes work in related 
areas that impact plant conservation, such as field botany, plant ecology, 
plant genetics, and the cellular and molecular study of plants.  

Candidates for the Herrick Endowed Chair should be mid–career scientists 
with an exceptional research and publication record, and with recognized 
potential for continued prominence in their field, evidenced by a 
substantive and sustained track record of extramural funding and 
international recognition for contributions in their area of expertise.   
The Herrick Endowment supports a highly competitive salary and startup
