Open Rank Search in Biological Oceanography at UCSB The Department of Ecology, Evolution, and Marine Biology (EEMB) at the University of California, Santa Barbara invites applications for an open rank faculty position in biological oceanography. We are searching broadly for an interdisciplinary scientist who employs cutting edge field-based approaches to study pelagic food webs of coastal and/or open ocean ecosystems. We seek researchers who examine the interactions of environmental variation, climatic factors, and biogeochemical cycles with the structure, function, composition, and physiology of plankton. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to play an influential role in the ongoing interdepartmental initiative for enhancing marine science at UCSB. The successful candidate is expected to develop an internationally recognized research program, mentor graduate and undergraduate students in their area of expertise, and contribute to EEMBs teaching curriculum. The successful applicant will have a Ph.D. and clear evidence of excellence in teaching and research.
