Each October, one of our favorite natural pastimes is to venture into a patch of Goldenrod to see how many pollinators and predators we can find. "This Week at Hilton Pond" we located--and photographed--some little arthropods we'd not encountered before, including a spider species we've been seeking for years. To view our latest "Ode to Goldenrod" photo essay, please visit the installment for 11-21 October 2011 at http://www.hiltonpond.org/ThisWeek111011.html
While there don't forget to scroll down for a list of all birds banded and recaptured, including some fall arrivals from the far north. There are also a few miscellaneous nature notes.
