The Central Arizona Phoenix Long-Term Ecological Research (CAP LTER) project, an affiliate of the Global Institute of Sustainability, is seeking a Research Technician to conduct seasonal bird counts for birds across the Phoenix Metro area. This position is expected to last through March 2012.
Duties include but are not limited to: Identifying bird species by sight and sound; locating census points in relatively undifferentiated tracts of desert using hand-held GPS tools; conducting distance-based bird census techniques such as point counts; driving university vehicle off-road on uneven terrain. DAYS AND SCHEDULE: Monday-Sunday; early mornings and weekends; approximately 15 hours per week.
