*Assistant Professor – Wetland/Aquatic Ecologist *

Tenure-track, 9-month, 50% research, 50% teaching, School of Agricultural,
Forest, and Environmental Sciences, Clemson University. Available August
15, 2012.

We are seeking a broadly trained wetland/aquatic ecologist to develop a
long-term, externally funded research program supporting both graduate and
undergraduate students, and to teach undergraduate and graduate courses
within the framework of the new, interdisciplinary School of Agricultural,
Forest, and Environmental Sciences. Clemson is a Land Grant university
situated in the Upper Piedmont of South Carolina, USA. Applicants taking a
systems-level approach that integrates aspects of wildlife ecology,
quantitative ecology, conservation biology, or related disciplines will be
favored. Qualifications include a Ph.D. in ecology and environmental
sciences, wildlife ecology and management, natural resources, or other
related areas, and post-doctoral research and/or teaching experience. The
successful applicant will teach on average two regular courses per year
including an upper-level undergraduate/graduate wetlands course and a
portion of an undergraduate, team-taught, field methods course. The
wetland/aquatic ecologist will develop a graduate-level course that adds
needed analytical and conceptual dimensions to the graduate program.  Duties
also include undergraduate advising in Wildlife and Fisheries Biology or
Conservation Biology.  Service to university and professional communities
is expected.
