Hello! It seems we have a few spots available this year for our Australia field course. It is open to all US university/college students. We have had students from SUNY Syracuse and the University of New Hampshire, and credit transfer was not a problem.
The course ran very successfully twice so far (in 2010 and 2011), and will be taught again in 2012 (approximate dates: May 23 to June 14). We are four instructors with diverse backgrounds (marine ecology, terrestrial ecology, geology, ichthyology) and take a maximum of 24 students on the trip. Short description: - 2 days in Brisbane with visit of the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary - 11 days on Heron Island (southern Great Barrier Reef); extensive exploration of the reef biodiversity through daily snorkels; independent research projects on reef ecology - 6 day in the Wet Tropics (rainforest exploration day and night) - 2 days in Sydney For a detailed course description and to watch a video about the course go to http://academics.adelphi.edu/cie/australia/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_profilepage&v=Nfk-KatDpvY Cheers!
