Hello Ecolog,
I recently completed my Master’s Degree in Biology (Marine Ecology / Fisheries) and I’m currently in the Philippines doing some volunteer research concerning dugongs. My volunteer position is coming to an end and I am planning to travel around Southeast Asia for the next 4 months. I am very interested in learning about other research projects that are going on in this part of the world. I am happy to volunteer with any project, and I’d also be interested in stopping by to visit with researchers to learn about their work. I have a lot of fieldwork experience, and I can also help with data management, literature reviews, and statistical analysis (experience with R); I’m not bad at cleaning dishes either! Although much of my experience is marine-related, I’m also interested in anything and everything ecology (biology and conservation too). I plan to spend the rest of December in the Philippines, then January in Indonesia, and February / March in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and Thailand (schedule is flexible). Please contact me if you know of any research projects I could visit! I’m happy to send a resume and references.
