The Department of Biology in the College of Science and Health at the
University of Wisconsin (UW) -La Crosse is expanding and invites
applications for an academic year, tenure-track position at the level of
assistant professor. The successful candidate will develop a course in
animal behavior and/or entomology and will participate in teaching our
biology core curriculum including one or more of the following courses:
general biology, organismal biology, animal biology, or ecology. Behavioral
terrestrial entomologists are encouraged to apply, though other zoological
specialties will be considered. We seek engaging teachers and scholars
with a strong commitment to undergraduate education to serve as
inspirational mentors and role models for students with diverse career
goals and backgrounds. A Ph.D. (or equivalent terminal degree) in a
biological science is required. Previous teaching experience is
required. Experience
with disadvantaged students or other diversity issues is desirable. Successful
candidates will be expected to develop an externally funded research
program and direct undergraduate and graduate (MS) research. Academic-year
salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. Starting date
is August
