Dear ecologgers,

Some colleagues and I are trying to identify "how much" we know about the
ecology of different terrestrial biomes (i.e., boreal, dryland, temperate,
tropical and tundra). Our first approximation is rather a simplistic and -we
hope- effective one. We have records for publication "effort" in each of these
biomes for the last decades, but in order to make fair inferences, one must
normalize these by area and/or biodiversity. We are having a hard time finding
references that estimate total biodiversity per biome, which is very shocking
to us, although of course we understand the complexities of this estimation.
Any suggestions on references will be most welcome!
