The Center for Earth and Environmental Science at the State University of New York College at Plattsburgh seeks to fill a full time, tenure track position at the rank of assistant professor beginning August 2012. Responsibilities include: The successful candidate will teach courses in introductory atmospheric processes, oceanography and an advanced writing seminar and is expected to develop an advanced course in global climate change. Additionally, the candidate will have the opportunity to develop additional courses in his or her area of specialization, which may include but is not limited to; meteorology, global or regional climate change, climatology, atmospheric-ocean dynamics, energy systems, or physical limnology. The successful candidate is expected to maintain an active research program in addition to teaching responsibilities, advising students, and departmental and university service. Required Qualifications: A Ph.D. in a related field is required at time of appointment. Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with a Ph.D. in an environmental science related field with expertise in atmospheric or climate change science are preferred. Preference will be given to candidates with documented evidence of college level teaching effectiveness. Salary: $45,000 minimum, plus excellent benefits.
