Director, USGS South West Climate Science Center (SW CSC)
USGS is advertising for the leader of the
South West Climate Science Center in Tucson,
located on the University of Arizona campus.
Come help the Department of Interior and USGS
implement one of the eight new Climate Science
Centers, focusing on providing climate science
in support of developing adaptation strategies
for fish, wildlife and their habitats, and
other natural and cultural resources. This
position will direct lead, and manage and the
activities of up to five research scientists
and three administrative staff and will work
closely with regional management and science
partners, the University of Arizona Principal
Investigator, and other university partners in
developing the SW CSC science priorities. The
incumbent will implement an annual science plan
that brings together federal, state and
university research to support the key
endpoints of interest to the Department of the
Interior and its management partners. The
incumbent will be expected to obtain an
official affiliation with the University of
Arizona and will be able to develop their own
research program focused on climate effects on
natural resources of the South West.
