The deadline for submitting abstracts to the 19th annual meeting of The California Society for Ecological Restoration (SERCAL) is Feb. 1, 2012. The 2012 SERCAL Conference is at the University of California-Davis in Davis, CA from May 15-17. SERCAL is a non-profit membership based organization dedicated to the purpose of bringing about the recovery of damaged California ecosystems. To this end, the organization's activities are focused on the presentation of conferences, symposia, workshops, field trips and other educational activities dealing with the many different aspects involved in restoration of California native habitats. The 2012 SERCAL Conference will feature a cross-section of Central Valley restoration activities, with a focus on Delta/water issues, grasslands, and riparian areas. The plenary session will feature state senator Lois Welk, and field trips will be organized in support of technical sessions.
