The Department of Forest Engineering, Resources, and Management at Oregon 
State University (http://ferm.forestry.oregonstate.edu//) in Corvallis, 
Oregon seeks applicants for a tenure-track research and teaching Assistant 
Professor position in the broad area of forest soils and nutrition.  We 
are open to outstanding people with research interests in forest soil 
science and/or forest nutrition in the context of actively managed forest 
ecosystems. This is a 0.75 FTE, 12-month or 1.0 FTE, 9-month tenure-track 
position (at the discretion of the Department Head) with anticipated start 
date of 1 September 2012. Incumbent is encouraged to increase his/her base 
appointment/salary by seeking supplemental funding through other 
activities outside of their approved position description. We are seeking 
candidates with an outstanding record of scientific accomplishment and a 
strong commitment to both undergraduate and graduate teaching. The 
position is envisioned to take advantage of the high degree of 
collaboration among units across campus and elsewhere within the state in 
sustainable forest management related to forest soils, forest nutrition, 
and related topics. Minimum requirements include a PhD in forest soils, 
forest management, forest hydrology or related soils field completed prior 
to the position start date.  Salary is commensurate with education and 
experience.
