The University of St. Francis, a Catholic, Franciscan institution in Joliet, Illinois invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Biology to start in August, 2012. This is a tenure-track position.

POSITION SUMMARY You will be expected to develop and teach lecture/laboratory courses in animal behavior as well as courses in comparative zoology (vertebrate and/or invertebrate) and teach within our introductory biology sequence for biology and nursing and allied health majors. Development of an interdisciplinary undergraduate research program in animal behavior or zoology and the willingness to integrate this research into the curriculum is preferred. Primary responsibility will be teaching lecture and laboratory courses in animal behavior and other related areas and advising students. You will be expected to develop a funded research program that utilizes undergraduates. In addition, you will be expected to participate in service-related activities within the Department of Natural Sciences and/or university community.
