The Organization of Biological Field Stations and National Association
of Marine Labs are conducting an NSF-funded strategic planning effort to
understand how to position field stations and marine labs in a dynamic
scientific landscape. Towards that goal, we have released a survey to
understand the challenges and opportunities facing such institutions.
We are using a very broad definition of organizations that we would like
to include in the survey-- essentially any institution that is
facilitating research in a particular geographic area. You do not need
to have housing facilities or lab space. Rather, you simply need to
have a place that is hosting sustained research.
