Hi all,

I'm interested in seeking out folks with modeling and data analysis needs that
I might be able to
fulfill as a part time consultant or contractor as I write my dissertation, and
potentially full time
upon completion of my degree.

I am currently a PhD student in Ecology at Montana State University advised by
Andy Hansen, and I
expect to complete my degree in December 2012. My research has focused on
using GPS collar
data to develop and validate models of habitat suitability and connectivity.

I have worked extensively with large datasets, including GPS and VHF collar
data for two species,
habitat data compiled from various sources, and MODIS climate data. I am
comfortable using
ArcGIS Spatial Analyst tools, Python scripts, R, SAS, and a variety of more
specialized software tools
to perform a range of spatial analyses and statistical modeling of habitat
suitability and species
distributions, connectivity, landscape pattern, and population dynamics. I've
also completed
coursework for a graduate certificate in statistics, as well as additional
coursework focused on
analysis of population and habitat data.

I'd be happy to provide a CV and references and to speak further with anyone
who has current or
upcoming projects that I might be able to contribute to!

Thanks,

Meredith Rainey
