Title: MS ASSISTANTSHIP - CARBON ESTIMATION

Job Description: The Department of Biology, University of Louisiana, Monroe
is seeking candidates (two) for MS Assistantships beginning in Aug. 2012.
The successful applicants will join the Plant Ecology Laboratory to design a
study that will enable estimation of carbon budget in Bottomland Hardwood
forests - a part of a funded project. Successful candidates will work with
Dr. Joydeep Bhattacharjee in, 1) establishing a carbon dioxide - water vapor
flux tower, 2) designing and setting up the experiment in a Bottomland
Hardwood, and 3) collection of data, both meteorological and vegetation. The
candidates will also work closely with faculties in Atmospheric Sciences (at
ULM) and State Wildlife and Fisheries personnel.

Qualifications: BS in forestry, ecology or related discipline, GPA > 3.3,
combined GRE > 1200, excellent writing, communication, and quantitative
skills, demonstrated ability to work independently.
