Hi folks, I have "inherited" a Trase 6050X1 TDR soil moisture probe/waveform analyzer, but I have a problem that I was hoping people would be able to help me with. I have not been able to successfully get the unit to interface with a computer. I installed the Wintrase software that came packaged with the unit on a desktop PC and connected the unit to the COM1 port on the computer with a serial cable. However, neither Wintrase nor Hyperterminal would recognize the unit. I have tried playing with the different parameters on the unit and the software, and tried multiple cables, but nothing has worked so far. Tech support at Soil Moisture Corp wasn't very helpful, either. Argh! If anyone has any experience or expertise with these machines and could help me, please email me at [email protected].
