Apologies for cross posting

There are five days left to take advantage of the discounted early bird
registration fees for the 12th International Paleolimnology Symposium being
held in Glasgow in August. The deadline for this is the 15th May, but you don't
need to have your abstract ready to submit as the deadline for abstracts is the
1st July.

So you can take advantage of the discounted rate and come back to submit your
abstract.

There is a diverse range of sessions proposed that covers every aspect of
palaeolimnology from understanding more recent environmental changes and
impacts to long-term geological climate variability documented by lake drill
cores, from mountain to high latitude lakes and the development of novel
biomarkers, biogenic isotopes to constraining lake sediment chronologies. There
is something for everyone!

Of particular relevance to ECOLOG-L are the sessions:

Session 2: Applied palaeolimnology

Session 6: Regional integration of recent lake sediments for management of
landscapes, ecosystems and ecosystem services
http://paleolim.org/ips2012/index.php/programme/special-sessions/4-environmental-change-in-high-latitudes/

Session 9: Thirty years of quantitative palaeoenvironmental reconstructions:
lessons from the past and future challenges
http://paleolim.org/ips2012/index.php/programme/special-sessions/9-thirty-years-of-quantitative-palaeoenvironmental-reconstructions/

Session 12: Land, sea and society: palaeoenvironmental perspectives on coastal,
brackish and saline systems
http://paleolim.org/ips2012/index.php/programme/special-sessions/12-land-sea-and-society-palaeoenvironmental-perspectives/

Session 14: Palaeoecological reflections of biodiversity: challenges and new
advances
http://paleolim.org/ips2012/index.php/programme/special-sessions/14-palaeoecological-reflections-of-biodiversity-challenges-and-new-advances/

So please consider attending IPS2012 this summer and we look forward to seeing
you there.

Andy

How to register:

To register you must first setup an account on the IPS2012 website - you will
