The University of Nottingham Ningbo China is a pioneer in
Sino-foreign tertiary education and is expanding rapidly. It is looking for a
highly competent and
intellectually exciting individual with a passion for teaching and research to
join its Environmental Sciences team in August 2012. UNNC is part of the
University of
Nottingham’s Global University and offers unique teaching and research
opportunities in a highly dynamic economy.

Applications are invited for the above post in the Faculty
of Science & Engineering which is one of the newest faculties at the
University but is expected to become one of the biggest as the University rolls
out its detailed, long term plans. The
University expects to triple its number of science and engineering students to
over 2,000 within the next few years.
The first intake of UNNC Environmental Sciences students will graduate
in 2013 and Master of Science degrees will be offered in a range of subjects in
the near future.

Academics within the field of Environmental Sciences,
particularly those with experience in environmental pollution or climate
change, are encouraged to apply. Candidates must have a PhD in a relevant
discipline (or be close to completion). Excellent research skills, ideally
supported by an established track record of high quality research outputs are
required and the ability to attract funding for major research projects is a
distinct advantage. Experience of
teaching and tutorial work in relevant subjects at undergraduate and
postgraduate level in an international English-speaking institution is also
essential.

possible thereafter and will initially be offered on a fixed-term contract with
the University of Nottingham, Ningbo, China for a period of up to seven years.
