Hi Kayleigh,

I don't have experience with Access, but I have heard that MySQL (a free, open
source relational database program - http://www.mysql.com/) is excellent. MySQL
itself is a command line program but there is a front end (like SPSS in terms
of point and click), MySQL Workbench
(http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/workbench/), that is more user friendly if you
didn't want to learn UNIX programming. It's cross platform so it works on pcs
and macs.

Hope this helps,

- Paul
