Hi Kayleigh, I don't have experience with Access, but I have heard that MySQL (a free, open source relational database program - http://www.mysql.com/) is excellent. MySQL itself is a command line program but there is a front end (like SPSS in terms of point and click), MySQL Workbench (http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/workbench/), that is more user friendly if you didn't want to learn UNIX programming. It's cross platform so it works on pcs and macs.
Hope this helps, - Paul On May 30, 2012, at 5:11 AM, Kayleigh Somers wrote: > Hi all, > > Wondering if anyone out there has suggestions for an Access (although > hopefully less user-hostile!) > equivalent for the Mac OS, to query databases. > > Thanks! > Kayleigh Somers > Doctoral Candidate > University Program in Ecology > Duke University ---------------------------------- Paul Sims Department of Fisheries and Wildlife Oregon State University Corvallis, OR 97330 cell: (802)-310-7160 https://sites.google.com/site/paulqsims
