Neotropical Primate Conservation (NPC) is looking to fill a few more volunteer positions for its July 14th - August 25th Volunteer Expedition. NPC is a non-profit based out of the cloud forest in northern Peru. As a conservation organization, NPC integrates local communities into all of its efforts.
We are currently seeking volunteers to help us collect data on the critically endangered yellow- tailed woolly monkey and other endemic primate species such as the Andean night monkey and Andean titi monkey. Volunteers will also participate in habitat restoration and reforestation, and assist in improving local awareness of environmental issues through education activities in schools. A contribution of $1,400 is requested from the volunteer, which excludes travel to the field site but includes accommodation, food, wages for local guides, two excursions to Kuelap and the Gocta waterfall, and a small contribution to the running of the project.
