Oglala Sioux Parks & Recreation Authority (OSPRA) and World Wildlife Fund (WWF) are inviting experienced bison consultants to submit proposals to: 1) support OSPRA in completing a feasibility study of its bison herd expansion, and 2) support OSPRA in updating its buffalo management plan in accordance with future goals of the organization. The specific objectives of this consultancy are to:
* Identify the optimal areas for tribal buffalo herd expansion, including evaluation of the South Unit of Badlands National Park * Make recommendations for economic viability of the herds (including consideration of methods and costs of herd management, marketing, live and post-mortem removal and delivery to market with consideration for traditional tribal practices) * Establish multi-year plan for herd expansion * Update the OSPRA buffalo management plan based on best practices for bison and grassland habitat management in line with the cultural integrity of the herds and preferences of herd management and biology teams Please find the attached Request for Proposals with Scope of Work and instructions for proposal submission.
