A newly-developed site targeting private landowners is designed to encourage
conservation practices and management plan implementation for non-technical
audiences - especially those not predisposed to conservation management.

In most areas of the country, private landowners hold the key to forest and
wildlife habitat conservation. The American Forest Foundation has developed
a web-based tool to help address a vexing challenge in the conservation
community around how to reach most of America’s woodland owners.

Family forest owners hold the largest portion of forests in America,
accounting for 251 million acres. Only four percent of woodland owners have
any kind of management plan for their land, despite the fact that nearly 50
percent have harvested trees from their property, and only 14 percent have
received professional advice before harvesting.

My Land Plan's primary features - mapping and goal/action setting - are in
place. Other features including a directory of vetted consulting
professionals and activity and management plan logging will be rolling out soon.

To further plan, develop and improve features for the My Land Plan
application, we need your feedback as a technical professional.

We also need feedback from the intended audience - resident or absentee
landowners who want to enjoy, protect, improve, profit from and pass on
their land.

Please share with your land-owning friends and colleagues.
