Hello all,

Thank you for the tremendous support concerning my question concerning good
job boards. Based on the responses I received, many of you are in a
similar boat. Accordingly, I've compiled the responses into the list that
follows the text of this mailing, and added some job boards that i knew of
that no-one mentioned.

A couple of general notes: Many people suggested keeping track of the
job-postings of specifc organizations, I did not include all those links, I
suspect that you all already know of many of the specific organizations
you're interested in. This may be counter productive, but some of the
organizations I follow closely are: the IUCN, TRAFFIC, TNC, the UN, WWF,
Conservation International, The School For Field Studies, and Round River
(amongst others).

Many, many international jobs are heavily focused on forestry and
specifically carbon mitigation, nearly all of which require detailed
knowledge of REDD+procedures. As the economy is in trouble all over the
place (except for Australia), many organizations are looking for
ridiculously experienced upper level management, financial officers, or
fund raisers, limiting the options for those of us who don't do well with a
strictly desk/computer based job. In some cases the descriptions are not
tremendously descriptive.

It has become common for potential employers to not bother confirming that
they have received an application package. FOLLOW UP on anything you send
to any organization, by phone if you can!

Some of these links go directly to job postings, others to a page of links
to other job boards. The links in pages of links are often not frequently
updated, thus it is common to find dead links. Some of these pages have
both specific job postings and pages of links (Society of Wetland
Scientists is a good example of this).
