All - I invite you to consider submitting an abstract for an exciting
session at AGU this autumn:

B072. When winter changes: hydrological, ecological and biogeochemical
responses

Description: Wherever winter occurs, it is likely changing already, or
projected to change with warming and precipitation shifts. Additionally,
other environmental changes, such as increased dust deposition or land
cover change, also lead to changes in winter environments. This session
will focus on how winter is changing and the impacts on natural and human
systems. Ongoing research aims to characterize the effects of changing
winters on hydrology, species, ecosystems, and people. Studies focusing on
changes in diverse regions are sought, including those with less severe
winters, as proportional changes in the duration of winter or the depth of
snowpack may actually be greater in such regions.

Session conveners: Heidi Steltzer, Fort Lewis College, Durango, CO 81301,
