Dear all, We are pleased to announce an upcoming session at the 2012 Fall AGU Meeting:
H005. Ecohydrology of Tropical Forests: Processes, Feedbacks, and Change Session Description: Ecohydrology paradigms are largely based on concepts generated in water-limited dryland regions. Wet tropical ecosystems are fundamentally different, limited instead by atmospheric demand and cloud cover that influence their behavior in ways that are often oversimplified despite the complexity and diversity that define them. The combined pressures of land use change, climate change, and extreme events generate urgency in understanding the processes and feedbacks governing these regions. We invite contributions on all aspects of the ecohydrology of wet tropical forests, particularly those addressing the dynamics of local and global change, land-atmosphere interactions, field and modeling methods, and ecosystem sustainability. The session is co-organized by Gretchen Miller (Texas A&M University), Georgianne Moore (Texas A&M University), and Heidi Asbjornsen (Univ of New Hampshire). The AGU Fall 2012 meeting will be in San Francisco, CA from December 3rd to 7th. Go to http://agu-fm12.abstractcentral.com/index.jsp. The deadline is August 8. Hope to see many of you there!
