Dear colleagues, As the final deadline for abstract submissions approaching, we would like to remind and encourage you to submit an abstract to the following timely and exciting session at the upcoming AGU fall meeting in San Francisco, CA:
GC021: Forest Hydrology within the Context of Global Change and Forest Health Description: "Widespread threats to forests under climate change prompt re-thinking priorities for water management on forest lands. Despite the widely held view that forest management should emphasize providing water for downstream uses, maintaining forest health in the future may require conserving water on forest lands. This session focuses on this novel and underexplored shift in priorities for forests, emphasizing: (i) complex interactions underlying relations between forests and water at various scales; (ii) new approaches for prediction, modeling, and analysis to conserve water on the landscape; (iii) climate variability and forest health; and (iv) tradeoffs and implications of retaining water on landscapes for vegetation." The deadline for abstract submissions is 8 August 2012. Go to http://fallmeeting.agu.org/2012/scientific-program/abstract-submission-policies/ for abstract submitting instructions. Please consider submitting an abstract to our session. See you in San Francisco, Mohammad Safeeq, Oregon State University; Gordon E.
