Dear Colleagues,

I wanted to let you know about a recent post on the biocreativity blog (a blog
about the
intersection of art + biological sciences: biocreativity.wordpress.com) that
summarizes art-science
related events and talks on the ESA 2012 schedule. The post can be found at
http://wp.me/s1FpZg-esa2012

Also, there are several new ECO Art + Science series posts available on the
blog including:

The Sustainable Art of Emily Bryant http://wp.me/p1FpZg-jN. Bryant creates
intricate collages of
invasive insect species using pressed and dried invasive plant material. A solo
exhibition of her
work is also the first exhibition of biocreativity's newest venture:
Art.Science.Gallery., a new art
gallery, science-communication training center and (soon-to-be) event space in
Austin, Texas.
You can learn more about Emily Bryant's current exhibition at
www.ArtScienceGallery.com

and

The Inked Animals of Adam Cohen + Ben Labay http://wp.me/p1FpZg-lw. Cohen and
Labay create
inked prints of a diversity of animals (based on a traditional Japanese art
form, Gyotaku, or fish-
pressing). The work of Inked Animal will be shown in an upcoming
Art.Science.Gallery. exhibition
beginning September 30 in Austin, Texas.

We are always looking for new artist-scientists to feature in the ECO Art +
Science series, so please
pass along the names of anyone you think should be featured (even if it's
yourself!). Hope all of
you heading to Portland have a safe, fun and enlightening trip!

Sincerely,

Hayley
