Dear Ecolog- Please join us at the ISME (the International Society for Microbial Ecology) meeting in Copenhagen, tomorrow evening at 5:30, for a lively discussion about our emerging understanding of microbes as invasive species! We know that disturbances change microbial community composition and functions in diverse ecosystems. We also know that microorganisms of all domains are being transported worldwide at higher rates due to human activities. But we are lacking a comprehensive framework for hypothesis driven, feasible research into this exciting topic. We invite you to join us to create this framework! If you are at the ISME meeting, please come to this roundtable to learn and share your views and ideas.
