The National Association of Marine Labs and the Organizationo f Biological Field Stations are seeking feedback on a draft strategic plan report for field stations and marine labs. The report can be found at:

In short, field stations and marine labs wish to know how we can most effectively serve the field science community, given emerging trends in science.

Interested individuals are also encouraged to contact steering committee members, Ivar Babb, Ian Billick, Jan Hodder, Brian Kloeppel, Jo-Ann Leong, Jim Sanders, and Hilary Swain.

As part of the planning effort, NAML and OBFS conducted a survey of field stations and marine labs. The survey results are meant to inform the final report. This report may be found at:

Additionally, NAML and OBFS sponsored a workshop to inform the final report. A draft of the workshop report can be found at:

The report will be presented at the OBFS meetings at the Archbold Biological Station (http://www.archbold-station.org/station/documents/temp/obfs2012.html) and the proceedings will be communicated electronically.
